Demand Surcharge

During times of elevated shipping volumes, heightened demand for capacity, increased operating costs, and other strains on our network, FedEx may assess a Demand Surcharge.

See our Demand Surcharge here.

Out of Delivery/Pick-up Area Surcharge

The Out-of-Delivery-Area Surcharge and Out-of-Pickup-Area Surcharge rates are determined based on the corresponding tier of the ZIP code, postal code, or city of the shipment’s origin and/or destination location for International Express Freight and Parcel services.

International shipments delivered to or picked up from remote and less-accessible locations listed in the Out-of-Delivery-Area Surcharge and Out-of-Pickup-Area Surcharge ZIP and postal codes list will be subject to the rates per tier.

View the list of ZIP and postal codes by tier.

U.S. Inbound Processing Fee

Effective January 13, 2025, U.S. Inbound Processing Fee will be assessed on all international shipments, except FedEx® International Connect Plus shipments, imported into the U.S. in connection with the processing of those shipments for customs clearance.

Additional Handling Surcharge

Effective July 14, 2025, all international shipments that exceed the maximum allowed dimensions and weight will be charged the applicable Unauthorized Package Charge or Unauthorized Freight Charge, and assessment criteria for Additional Handling Surcharge - Weight will change to 25kg. Other Additional Handling Surcharge assessment criteria currently used to determine the applicability of these surcharges remain unchanged.

(NOTE: If a FedEx package is subject to Unauthorized Package Charge, and also meets the criteria for either Additional Handling Surcharge-Dimension, Additional Handling Surcharge-Weight or Oversize Charge, then only the highest charge will apply.  If a package is eligible for Unauthorized Package Charge and Additional Handling Surcharge-Packaging, then both surcharges will apply.

If a FedEx freight handling unit is subject to  Unauthorized Freight Charge, and also meets the criteria for either Additional Handling Surcharge-Freight or Non-Stackable Surcharge, then only the highest charge will apply.)

An Additional Handling Surcharge applies to any package that meets any of the following criteria:

If a package is eligible for 2 or all 3 Additional Handling Surcharges, only 1 with greater charge will apply.
